Greenwich Migrant Hub is a new social space in Woolwich offering free advice and a hot meal to vulnerable migrants. We have now been open for a month and are recruiting new volunteers to join our team.
GMH’s volunteers will play an integral role to the running of the weekly Tuesday drop-in sessions. GMH aims to offer a welcoming and safe environment for vulnerable and excluded migrants who are facing destitution or homelessness. The service will focus especially on migrants with no recourse to public funds who require advice and support.
There are a number of positions ideal for those who would like to offer their time and commitment to working with vulnerable refugees, asylum seekers and migrants. You will work directly with our visitors. You will gain specialist knowledge of rights and advocacy through your role and from regular training workshops and be part of a small team of volunteers providing this much needed service in Greenwich.
All volunteers are provided with free tea/coffee/lunch during the sessions and with travel expenses reimbursed (within reason).
